About me

Some facts about me 🙂

Moving from Switzerland to the US in 2020 changed my life enormously. Although I started to teach online already in 2017, at that time I still had a balance between group classes and private ones in the classroom setting.

Since 2020 I teach only online. I miss a lot of time just doing something cool with my students, like going shopping together, baking a cake in my home, etc. while practicing German.  Online learning has a lot of advantages as well, and I really love it.  Over the last couple of years, I got to know so many different people from different cultures.

I have been living in different cultures and language environments, which allowed me to speak four languages. I know all the struggles of learning a language, but it has many more bright sides as well.  I would love to help you to experience those.

In the following, you can find some fun, let’s say interesting, facts about me. I would love to get to know you better as well during our class.

I love to learn, gain new skills, and improve myself. 24 hours of the day is unfortunately never enough. As far now I have gained education and even work experience besides as a professional language teacher, in the following sectors: economics including working in the banking sector, tourism, and hospitality which includes gastronomy, I have a Fitness Instructor Certification, a Red Cross Nurse Certification (and I even worked in a clinic for people with brain damage in the customer care), I learned Computer Science and Programming and I am a certified Dog Trainer as well. And not least, I even worked as a cowgirl in the Swiss Alps for a few summer longs.  I can’t wait for the new challenges in my life. 🙂

Have you seen the film Failure to Launch? Oh no, unfortunately, I have nothing in common with the beautiful actresses, but I could be the female version of McConaughey regarding the animal attacks. Well, yeah, I was attacked by several animals in the past and some were really dangerous. I think the most impressive ones were the attack of a chipmunk in Central Park in London (nothing dangerous, but not expected that one) and the most dangerous ones were the attack by a manta ray in Ecuador, where my leg was almost amputated afterward and the attack of a cow in Switzerland during my work on a farm, where the cow run over me and the fun story almost ended seriously deadly. But fortunately, I survived and just had to use crutches for a while.

I love to help as well. I find it important not to ignore the suffering in the world but help according to our abilities and possibilities. That is why I have been participating actively in different helping project for people and animals. And lately I just realized my big dream and after getting hand-on exepriences as a volunteer in Mexico in a dog shelter, we brought to life with my husband a foundation for helping dogs in Mexico. I have been having all my life dogs from shelters and from the street. My three doggies currently are from the streets of Mexico and I really hope, we will be able to help more and more lives.
